Archosaur, Dragon Raja SEA's (DR SEA) Game Developers (and publishers), often opens new servers for the game. I asked my friends why new servers are needed. To summarize their answer, new servers are created so that new players wouldn’t feel that they are left behind.
For everyone's information, DR creates level limits for their servers. Although S1(Server 1) gets to be the first server to raise or update its level limit, this method allows players (who don’t play daily) to be able to catch up to those who are at the top—at least, in terms of levels.
Even if that is the case, new players (newbies) would still find it hard to catch up with players who are familiar with the game; therefore, new servers are created to let newbies play without the pressure of being left behind.
I gotta say though, DR, as a game, isn’t exactly newbie friendly when it comes to their events. The event instruction is just a one-box infographic that doesn’t exactly tell the players what to do. The first time I played this game, I was confused about many things. This is why I am sharing some of the things I’ve learned about DR’s events.
For now, let's talk about some club events—events you can play with your club members.
Land of Conquest (LOC)
Land of Conquest is scheduled every Tuesday. From the word conquest, the event means you need to conquer the whole battlefield and kill your opponents. THE END—I’m kidding. If it were that simple then what’s the whole point of this post?
First, let’s talk about battlefields. The game follows a 1-3-5 pattern for battlefields and depending on how many battlefields you fight on, determines how many wins you have in total. For example, when fighting on three battlefields, you only need to win on 2 battlefields to claim victory on the event. If you win on all battlefields, then congratulations, I'm virtually sending you invisible pats on the back for that achievement.
There are five types of battlefields: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, and Spirit—Spirit being the neutral element.
Land of Conquest, to put it simply, is a capture the flag kind of game. Instead of capturing the enemy's flag, you capture towers that are initially greyed out when the even starts. On each battlefield, six towers can be captured to earn points. Capturing means turning the grey towers into green ones. If the towers are red, then they are captured by the enemy.
The more towers your club has captured, the more points you accumulate during the duration of the event. The points awarded per captured tower is 120 points and the score is added every 30 seconds. The points added depends on how many towers you have captured. Meaning if you captured 3 towers when the timer reaches the 30-second counter, 360 points are added to your total score for that elemental battlefield.
Two or three minutes into the event, a golem spawns in the middle of the battlefield and after you take its core, 1000 points are added to the club score. Note that it doesn’t matter whether you or the enemy kills the monster first. Whoever collects the core first, gets the 1000pts. Now, there are many ways to ensure your victory on the battlefield. But I’ll tell you about some techniques next time. If you are curious though, check SpiritGaming’s Video here. It’s the first video my club tried to study for building strategies for the LOC event.
Contests
As if the game isn’t confusing enough. They literally named the club event CONTESTS.
Contests is a club event where you try to capture bases. It is an event scheduled on Thursdays. There are five bases that your club and the enemies can capture. Each mini base gives 150 pts while the main tower gives 300. Just like LOC, points are accumulated over time and are added depending on how many bases you capture. There are three valuable things you need to remember for this event.
Helicopters exist inside this event map. A faster way to travel on the map after you respawn (or die) in the game is to ride the helicopter. The helipad is located at the back of your respawn area and only travels at a fixed route, you can choose where to land as long as it’s within the helicopter’s route.
Battle Tanks. Battle Tanks are crucial when capturing or defending the base. A good player who knows how to control the tank can be an unkillable terminator for five minutes. Just kill every enemy on your way. A confused player who is using the tank can be a good shield. Even if you don’t know how the skills of the tank work, you can just help your friends by shielding them or attacking the enemy by spamming the attack button. Battle tanks are tanky (no pun intended) so, any player who gets to control these things on the battlefield won’t die so easily.
Air Supply and Teleportation Machine. This is something Club Leaders and Battle Commanders need to take note of since they are the only players who can initiate these things. The Air Supply gives buffs to all club members for 1 min. If I’m not wrong, they can give the members a 100% bonus on all stats. The teleportation machine (TM) can be dropped anywhere on the map—near the mid-tower or somewhere on the enemy’s side of the map. The club members can use the TM to easily teleport from the respawn area to where the teleportation machine was dropped. It lasts for 1 min.
Whew, that was a lot to cover. I hope your minds aren’t on overdrive. I’m glad if this post helped new players understand the club events. If not, well, thank you for reading this until the end. I guess that’s it? I’ll be posting about Cross-Server Battlefields next time. So stay tune! See you, fellow students!
